Tuna Patties Recipe

It is healthy to add tuna to your diet for weight loss. The reason is as it has high protein content and a relatively low-calorie count.

INGREDIENTS

  1. TUNA PATTIES PREPARATION
  • Tuna (5 oz/ 142 grams canned)
  • Onion (one small chopped)
  • Fresh dill (chopped)
  • Breadcrumbs (1 oz/ 28 grams whole wheat)
  • Dijon mustard (1 tsp)
  • Low-fat mayonnaise (1 tbsp) (You can replace it with low-fat Greek yogurt, low-fat cheese, or hummus)
  • Lemon juice (1 tsp)
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil or coconut oil
  • Salt (as per your taste)
  • Pepper (as per your taste)
  1. PLATING AND SERVING
  • Spinach (1 oz or 28 grams)
  • Cherry tomatoes (2-3)

METHOD

TUNA PATTIES PREPARATION

STEP 1:

Take a large bowl. Add chopped onions, chopped dills, tuna, breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise (or yogurt/ hummus/ cheese), and lemon juice.

STEP 2:

In another small bowl, beat the egg with a fork until the yolk and white are combined. Pour the beaten egg into the large bowl, add salt & pepper, and mix all the ingredients well.

STEP 3:

Divide the mixture into equal parts and shape them into patties.

STEP 4:

Heat a pan and add olive oil. Shallow fry the patties and cook both sides until each side turns golden brown.

 

PLATING AND SERVING

STEP 1: 

Take a plate and start adding spinach to one-half of the place. 

STEP 2:

Now place the patties on the other half. 

STEP 3:

Cut the red cherry tomatoes into half and place them on the spinach. Your tuna patties are ready to be served.
